鼠是传统十二生肖之。相传，决定挑十二种动物代表东说念主间生肖，在端正到玉阙的那天早，小老鼠暗暗早起，坐在老牛身上先到了玉阙门口，并从牛角上先步跳了进去，为此成为十二生肖之。
